KA-BAR model #1271 is a large all black non-reflective 12 7/8" Commando fighting utility knife with a sure grip oval shaped non-slip Kraton G Thermoplastic elastomer handle.
This knife features an epoxy powder coated, high carbon (1095) steel blade with a [HRC 56-58] hardness rating and a partially serrated cutting edge to provide easy work with tough materials such as rope.
The full 8" blade is flat ground sharpened to a razor sharp 20 / 20 degrees with buff polished edges. This massive extra wide blade measures a full 1 1/2" in width.
The pinned butt cap and carbon steel guards are both powder coated.

Knife comes with a specially made KA-BAR leather/ Cordura sheath which is stitched as well as riveted for added strength and durability, has double snap closures with a ring riveted leg lashing hole.
